Pediatric Hospitalist Physician (Clinical/Academic Role)

This is a fully hospital employed Pediatric Hospitalist position with academic duties

Responsibilities

1 week on / 2 week off schedule with admin duties
Residents take call for doctor, Can take call from home or 30 minutes.
Very light call. Rounding. Out of hospital by 1:00 pm. Average 1-2 calls a night. Go into hospital 1 time per week. (typically a pediatric trauma call so the resident is not alone.
26 Family Medicine residents.
On off weeks only need to be available for a lecture if need.
Provides professional clinical services within the scope of the clinical Faculty responsibilities and under the guidelines of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
Provides supervision of medical care delivery for the organization’s hospital
Serve as a preceptor and mentor for Resident Physicians which includes supervision of residents while observing care provided and providing ongoing feedback
In addition, be responsible for preparing and delivering teaching conferences for residents, students, staff, other faculty on medical topics as needed

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Appointment as a Clinical Faculty member for the Program of the University of California, UC Davis, School of Medicine will be required
Current California MD license required
Valid and unrestricted (DEA) registration required
Membership in good standing of hospital’s medical staff required.
