How does this year's salary for Critical Care Physician compare to other years?
As the demand for critical care physicians grew, so did their salaries. Over the years, the average income of these physicians had been steadily increasing. However, the COVID-19 pandemic elevated the importance of their role in the battle against the virus. Consequently, the average salary saw a significant surge of 6% since 2019. In comparison to 2017, critical care physicians now earn an impressive 23% more annually.

This report was compiled using data from an original survey from August to September 2022. The 2,571 respondents represent a broad range of U.S.-based clinicians, roles, specialties, ages, facility sizes and experience levels. The age range of respondents is 26-79 and 46 medical specialties are represented. The data from the survey responses was compiled and analyzed by experts in the healthcare industry to formulate the insights shown here.Â
